Customers praised this portable power station as "amazing" and "brilliant" for camping and off-grid use. It reliably powers phones, tablets, lights, and small appliances for 3-5 days. While the 40w solar panel is underwhelming, the unit charges quickly via mains and car. Some noted flush buttons are hard to use in darkness.
The Jackery Explorer 240 v2
Arrived in a few days and was well packaged.
It’s a nice compact size and weights just 3.6 kg.
I’ve used to charge all my devices all week while away with no problems, iPads, iPhones, Smart watches, all done with ease.
The AC, 3 pin outlet is also great as I’ve been using it to power a pedestal fan during the hot weather.
I also used my Jackery SolarSaga 200w Solar Panel to charge it back up on my return home, and it worked really well.
It was taking in 108w while charging in full sun, which is great as its max Solar input is rated at 100w.
It’s a great product, nice size and plenty of power for all your gadgets.
Excellent, only fault id say is the light could do to face down a bit so you can see the buttons in the dark
I grabbed one of these to charge my tech up whilst motorbike camping. It’s just the right size, lasts a very long time and charges my kit up quickly. It’s a bit of kit I won’t leave behind now.
Perfect for a dip into off grid living. The 240 keeps a fan, LED lamps, iPhone and iPad running through the evening. The 40w panel is a little underwhelming though. I have ponied up for the 100w panel since (1st arrived cracked, fingers crossed for good customer service).
I wasn't sure which size Jackery to buy, so I chose the 240 V2 as a supplement for my VW campervan. It has turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. It's compact, easy to use, and provides more than enough power for my needs.
It's given me the confidence to explore more off-grid locations, and I'm now considering adding a solar panel so I can stay off-grid for even longer without relying on mains power. Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable portable power station for camping or campervan trips.
Powerhouse but Solar is lacking.
The Explorer 240 v2 is a mini beast. I use it for broadcast work and trips across the country and it's been a worthwhile investment. The solar charger however is very finicky and despite being 40W, I've never had it charge faster than 25W under the summer sun. If just 10% of the panels is in shade, you lose 90% of the solar power, it's very finicky and probably wouldn't buy another.
Just love this for car camping as its enough to power the 300w kettle for cooking and the USB plug inside can be increased by using a 12v cigarette socket with more USB 's on it, or for more 100w charging use the 3 pin orange Jackery charger in anger.
I prefer a SolarSaga 100w Panel for charge as you go during the day- leaving it fully charged for the evening/overnight usage., and have backup LiFePO4 leisure battery for emergencies at night. Charged quibk on the car lead but quickest off the mains. I have 2 for camping !
I recently purchased the 240 v2 from Amazon during one of their discounted promotional events. Was skeptical at first that the smaller size would offer less in terms of output but since I’ve been using it I have been pleasantly surprised at how much of a punch this packs given its small footprint. It’s lightweight and rugged and I feel confident that this will survive countless camping trips. The only minor negative is the display doesn’t show individual output when multiple devices are drawing power simultaneously. Overall I am pleased with the baby Jackery and based on my experience would consider upgrading to the 1000 in the not too distant future.
We bought this to enable us to tour "Off Grid" in our caravan. This was to use with my ResMed CPAP machine and it's DC adapter. This gave me 30 hours (at least) of use (3-4 nights sleep) before it had to be charged again. We have invested in a seperate Solar Panel from Amazon soley for the purpose of charging this unit. Brilliant. It may seem expensive but, the money we save by not having to pay for EHU (Electric Hook Up) it will pay for itself very quickly.
It's a sunny day so is pulling in 32w at half 9 in the morning and charging well, was given full charge by the plug on arrival to ensure working sufficiently. This is the baby of the jackery family and charging 2 power bricks drained it to 45% quicker than I thought it would but it left me with enough to charge phone and tablet on top, and the power bricks fully charged to use when I'm down on power. I'm thinking I am going to need a bigger version of this for when I go off on my travels but as a back up the explorer 240 does what it says on the tin. You definitely need a solar panel over 100w though tried a smaller mobile one and got nothing in charge. Delivery is by yodel though and that's the only reason Ive given this 4 stars as didn't arrive on time and I had to chase yodel myself to figure out where it was. Jackery itself gets 5 stars.
Great bit of kit. We regularly camp without electric hook up but usually have to rely on charging phones in pubs etc. We can now still go to the pub but don't have hunt around for power sockets.
The Jackory 240 has kept two phones charged plus other devices like torches and watches over a 6 day holiday. Started on 100% and by the end of the week only dropped to 30% with every day use, I think at a push it could do 7 or 8 days before recharging.
Really worth the expense and really handy size, with the option to charge it from the car if you have any daily trips planned.
Super product. Can charge my mobile, run an electric blanket and it powers a lamp all evening. Easy to charge. I bought an additional cable to avoid lots of connections, and used the AllPower solar panels with it. Works well.
I love my Jackery. Love it. I am right at this very moment writing this review at a off grid camping location with my small car and medium sized car extension. The Jackery does exactly what it says it can, on the tin. The more power you use you will need to charge it, but overall power should last easy for 4 nights at minimum. I registered my jackery immediately after it arrived to secure the 3 years cover. It is pricey but packs a far amount of power if you want independence on a campsite or off a campsite then this is the powerstation for you. As the saying goes you get what you pay for.
On a singular note, first charge and discharge goes down fairly quickly but after that smooth running as to be expected with something just sitting in a warehouse.
Only BIG disappointment is their solar panel isn't waterproof and well in England that is quite pathetic. So I won't purchase it as makes no sense with the weather overall we get here. So one star off for not supplying a waterproof solar panel for other climates. Also other compatible versions do exist and take in 34% to 45% power input into the Jackery. So think wisely before purchasing the non waterproof one in the UK. You will need 8mm connector if you buy a none Jackery solar panel.
Bought the 240 with solar panels the other week, knowing we were camping for the weekend with no electrical hook up. Charged it up at home, used it all weekend with no need to plug the solar panels in. Still have a bit of charge left. Amazing product, good value and well built.
Will certainly get a bigger unit when the time comes.
Great bit of kit, good value for money too
Having a mains connector directly on the side for charging makes things a lot easier than having a seperate power supply as we used to have
Haven't explored all of the facilities yet but looking forward to doing so
I am a enthusiastic Radio ham & CB user , I recently bought a JACKERY EXPLORER 240 PORTABLE POWER STATION . I USE IT TO RUN A 2M MOBILE TRANSCEIVER UNIT & a CB Mobile Unit at the same time in my Subrau Forester . It saves me from running the engine to power these devices therefore saving me the cost of fuel & extra & wear & tear . The JACKERY 240 is so good that this task i only will only need to charge once a month . I have not used it yet to power to charge a laptop . It is so robust & easy to use . I am more than happy to recommed it ,s use to any one
Absolutely brilliant. Perfect for our French road trip. Charging off the car between campsites and keeping us powered during the stay. Would absolutely recommend
I've been watching a lot of YouTube recently and as I'm thinking about starting some car camping decided to invest in my one these power banks. What a fabulous bit of kit! Easy to charge up, easy to understand how to use and perfect to use when away or at home. I'd like to be able to get more from Jackery in the future.
This 240 is well made and has power points for ao many different uses. I love it!
Excellent piece of kit, very happy so far.
Just recieved looks really good and delivery was speedy
Great
Very sturdy. Does everything I wanted it for
Will this power a hair dryer?
Thank you for your enquiry.
The Explorer 240 v2 and Explorer 300 Plus both have a 300W output, which is typically insufficient for most hair dryers.
For reliable performance, we recommend:
Explorer 1000 v2 (1500W output) - suitable for compact dryers ≤1400W
Explorer 2000 v2 (2200W output) - handles full-power salon-style dryers
Pro Tip: Check your dryer's wattage (usually on the rating plate near the handle) to select the ideal power station.
Excellent power bank, prompt delivery at a good price. I look forward to using it on our next camping trip.
Really appreciate the quality of this case which I also use for storing the compatible fast charger plug - I keep the explorer 100 unit in it even when in use so highly recommended
Having, for years used a combination of solar panel, leisure battery and homemade leads, the Jackery is a huge improvement. It takes all the guesswork out of knowing how much power you have left and wondering whether there's enough to keep the fridge powered during the night - and stops you being woken up by the constant bleeping when the fridge switches on and off throughout the night or being plunged into darkness when the tent light goes off.
The extension cable is a must in my opinion, it just gives you that little extra reach to find the best sunny spot, quality product that is simple to use.
I’ve been really impressed with my Jackery. It’s a well-built, reliable portable power station that gives me peace of mind when I’m away from mains electricity. It’s particularly useful for camping, travelling, or keeping essential devices powered during a power cut.
It’s easy to use, the battery lasts well, and having multiple charging options makes it very convenient. I also like that it’s relatively compact and straightforward to carry around.
Overall, I’m very happy with my Jackery. It feels like a quality product, and I’d definitely recommend one to anyone looking for a dependable portable power solution.
Recently went on a two week camping trip to Cornwall and didn’t have a hook up. With a little Solar top up when the Sun was out the Jackery Explorer 500 made sure all out tech stayed powered up for the duration. Wit two teenage girls in the day family I cannot stress how important this was for my sanity!
So far so very good! Has solved all my needs for weekends away in my T4!
Fantastic product
Great quality and functional lamp providing back up and mobility
Good quality functional cable
I won this bag in a Prize Draw on the Jackery website, and it’s really good.
The bag is well made and a nice size and design, not too big.
There is a pocket on one end that extends into the main part of the bag, and also a small inside pocket in the main compartment.
There’s enough room to fit a Jackery Explorer 240 v2 and the charging cable.
Other smaller power Stations like the Explorer 300D and the Explorer 100 Plus would leave plenty of room for other essentials.
Great addition to anyone's Jackery set up. I used when my step son and his partner joined us. Need to run the panels from the other side of their tent so with the extension cable I was able to me the panels and not have to move the whole setup.
Great lamp that kicks out a great amount of light. We took it away with us for a week and didn't come close to needing to recharged. It is now not only our camp lamp but lives in our van as a just incase lamp / light
I had be going backwards and forwards for awhile about buying a solar out fit for camping. After a rough week away my mind was made up. I needed to get one. While away on the rough week I spoke to people around the camp site who were using different solar set ups. Out of all of them Jackery was the most used and impressed me the most. So Fast forward 2 weeks and I am back after a good week away, this time having my Jackery Solar Generator 2000v2. with me. Quite simply it does what's it says it does. We had enough power for Electric cool boxes for the whole trip , phones etc...... all the things ppl need and use daily. The Panels charged with high efficiency during the day, ready for the night of abuse from the chargers, mobile phones and cameras, busy day out and about or while keeping the electrical box is running keeping our food and drinks cool.
This is perfect for when I’m out fishing, keeps my phone, radio, earbuds and headtorch charged for at least a weekend, great size and features
