Why Need to Power Garden Shed?

Appropriate lighting is essential whether you are trimming plants or reading and resting in the garden shed. Plus, choosing different styles of lamps and lighting colours can create a unique nighttime garden landscape.
With power to garden shed, power tools such as weeders, leaf blowers, chainsaws, and trimmers can be used anytime, avoiding frequent transportation.
Many people enjoy seeking inspiration in the garden workshop for writing, painting, handicraft making, or other creative projects. Powering to the garden shed can provide a quiet, comfortable, and fully functional office.
During sudden power outages or severe weather, if your garden shed is equipped with an independent power system—such as solar generators—it can ensure that essential appliances continue to operate, adding an extra layer of security for your home.
In the cold winter, installing a solar greenhouse heater or underfloor heating system can make the garden shed a warm retreat for reading, enjoying a hot drink, or chatting with family and friends, allowing you to savour the garden’s tranquillity and beauty even in chilly weather.

FAQ

  • 1. What materials are needed to install a garden shed?

Choose the material for your garden shed based on your budget and needs. Options include wooden, resin, and metal sheds.

Wooden sheds can blend well with the garden environment and are the most aesthetically pleasing, but they require regular maintenance to prevent moisture and insect damage. Resin sheds are cost-effective and easy to assemble, but their walls have limited load-bearing capacity. Metal sheds are fire-resistant, insect-proof, and weather-proof, but they may rust after long-term use.
  • ·Orientation: Face south in the Northern Hemisphere and north in the Southern Hemisphere to ensure maximum sunlight.
·Tilt angle: Generally, the angle should be the same as the latitude, but you can increase the angle in winter.

When placing solar panels to power to garden shed, avoid shading from trees and buildings; do not install them directly on the ground and leave a gap to prevent overheating.
  • Our small generators can power even the strongest of fridges. Our 1000 Pro can power a fridge (530W) for up to 1.5 hours.
  • ·If you only need to run lighting and small garden tools daily, you can choose a solar generator with a capacity of 200-500Wh (such as the Jackery Solar Generator 240 v2).
·If you also plan to use garden tools, garden cameras, and fans in your garden shed, you will need a solar generator with a capacity of 1000-1500Wh (such as the Jackery Solar Generator 1000 v2).
·If you have a larger garden that requires more garden tools for maintenance, or if you want a garden studio power source, then a battery capacity of over 2000Wh with an expansion function is your best choice (such as the Jackery Solar Generator 2000 Plus).

Tips: Calculate the total power consumption of all devices (wattage × hours of use) and choose a generator with a capacity of at least 1.5 times the daily power consumption to cope with cloudy or rainy days.
