At first it might seem counterintuitive, however, I changed my 200w panel for 2x 100w panels and yet I couldn’t be more pleased. I did this for a number of reasons but primarily to afford me greater flexibility and convenience. I say Flexibility because I found that in my circumstances I couldn’t always find a site to position the larger panel such that it would receive optimal exposure the sun, ie one end of the panel often being in shade as the sun rose through the day - necessitating a regular adjustment throughout the day to ensure I maximised my charging potential. With the small 100w panels, owing to their high efficiency, I can position them in a more compact space (usually behind each other) ensuring they both get maximum exposure for longer before one end becomes shaded. I also find I can often find two smaller and separate locations that will give me full exposure whereas with the longer 200w panel only partial exposure in either spot would have been possible. Which is where the convenience comes in. Not only does the aforementioned mean I have to readjust my panel(s) less frequently to maximise their potential, they are also less cumbersome to move and reset when I need to, not to mention less heavy to pack and carry. This is not to say the 200w panel is not worth buying, on the contrary, it is perfect if you have well exposed permanent pitch, however, if like me you find that you are constantly moving, sometimes in more enclosed areas, having two separate panels opens up my options and hence convenience. One of the other major advantages of having two separate panels (either 200w or 100w) over just one is that should anything unfortunate befall one panel I am still left with a source to charge my Power Station, albeit at a reduced rate. Of course with a single panel all potential would be lost. These are just a few of the reasons behind my decision to ‘double up’ there, I am sure many more depending on individual circumstances which makes considering the ‘dual’ option a more practical solution to maintaining a more sustainable charging regime.
Handy to have incase away
Easy to set up
A really handy, really robust plug for all your charging needs!!
Great bag, really build well. Keeps my power station protected
Highly recommended. User friendly and high quality
1000v2
Very efficient delivery.
Bought as a back up for home, will boil the kettle a few times or run tv & wifi for a few hours. Will also back up caravan if we go off grid. Charged from main very quickly. Including a 12v charging cable would have been a nice addition. Not yet explored solar charging.
Got this to increase my output from my Explorer 500 - as good as I expected and charging nicely in the back of the pick up so always ready / keeping the fridge going. Having the app has been a great bonus for monitoring during journeys - CarPlay support would be an amazing improvement to the app.
I’ve had my eye on getting one of these for ages and when the second gen came out I knew it was time as I wanted the power but something smaller and this has not disappoint me. Very happy with it
After some researching on what brand/type of power station that would suit me best, I settled on the Explorer 1000 v2 unit. Great size for me while stored in my van during travels. Weight compared to other similar units is good, coming out around 1kg lighter which is ideal for when taking the unit away from the van for the day. Quick charge time and feels solid, can’t complain so far, have enjoyed using the unit since my ownership so far.
Just used for the first time.
Perfect for the long weekend break.
Doesn’t take up much room.
Would recommend.
You won’t regret buying It’s an essential in all occasions
I bought the Jackery 1000v2 to use while on tentbox trips and found it to be a great buy due to the flexibility it provides by not needing an electric hook up. Would recommend to anyone looking for a portable power station for similar camping trips!
Powered our cooler and phones for a full weekend Lightweight and easy to carry
First time we have used the 1000 v2 or any power pack.
We have a dodgy leisure battery in our camper and the 1000 v2 kept our fridge running over the weekend (turned off at night). we have yet to try the solar panels as we've had no real sunshine since purchasing it.
