Old model with outdated battery Lithium not the newer ones and takes an age to charge up from the mains but who is in a rush - Made up a separate battery to charge up via the solar/mains input which was very cheap and tops the unit up quickly with the modern battery system.
Purchased a jackery explorer with solar saga 100w for use with our Foldaport trailer we used both items continuously for 3 days and still had power to spare
Very user friendly and surprised by how much equipment we could run from the battery. A very wise purchase so apt for the purpose we wanted
Bought it for fishing trip stay in camping , charged iPhone, iPad , and 12v cooler box working brilliants so simple and solar power pads 100kw charge the 500 power station , working well with sun ray , am thinking about getting another solar pad double quicker charger
I’ve only used this wonderful device once but it kept my coolbox and phone going thru the Great Estate Fest. 👍
I bought the 500 to use in my campervan when I am off grid. I got the solar panels with it too, for ease of charging when off-grid. The 500 is lightweight and easy to carry, it doesn't take up much room and is very easy to use. The outlets are more than enough and the solar panel lead also has outlets in it too for USB and USBC charging. The only thing I would criticise is that the 500 does not have a USBC charging point on it so if you need this outlet then you would need the solar panel lead. It charges up quickly with the solar and there are indicators on the panel that show you how much charge is being inputted into the machine when hooked up to solar. This helps determine the position of the panels when charging for maximum efficiency. Very happy with the 500 and would definitly recommend it to others.
Nice light - well made and rechargeable- recommended with everyone's kit bag !
Primarily bought to use as an alternative to getting electric hook up when camping. As yet not a had a long trip to fully test it out but these are my initial thoughts.
It's reasonably heavy but not too bad but you'd definitely not want to carry it a long distance. Our 1st short trip it ran a small fridge/cool box (24/7) and charged devices for approx 3 days. Unfortunately the weather was poor so the solar panel wasn't used to top it up and we ended up topping it up with a 15min fast charge from a socket on site to run the final night and charge devices.
When home I used the solar panel to charge it back up from flat. This took 3 days approx as the panel will only produce 200w in perfect conditions and being in the UK the weather is never perfect. Also to achieve good charge you have move the panel to catch the optimal sun. This can be a bit awkward some times as the panel can have a mind of it own and the flexible legs can fold down after you set one side if your moving it by yourself. We will also need a longer charge cable to be able to leave it charging in the tent with the panel outside but the usbs on the cable are a nice touch to charge direct from that panel.
With having the 2000w rating I'm also hoping to run power tools off this for short periods when jobs are off grid but not tested this as yet.
I don't think it will be as convenient as having hook up as you don't need to think about what your using but I'm very happy with our purchase so far and think with some more thought about what we're using and a bit of luck with the sun to keep it topped up we'll manage a 2 wk trip off grid and save money on future trips by not paying for hook up. More thoughts to follow after some more thorough testing.
Top notch light, used recently as our main hanging tent light. Gives off enough light to light a 6 man family tent on full power. Great for portability too, for kids to nip to toilet in the night. Lasted 3/4 nights roughly then needed a charge from the battery which charges it fairly quick.
Didn’t think I needed this much power for camping… until I tried it. Ran our lights, mini fridge, and even charged both our phones and drone — all weekend, no problem. Total game changer.
Again great product and excellent service 👏 👍 thank you so much
We bought this to move away from using gas canisters when cooking while camping. We ran a fridge for two days, boiled the kettle three times and cooked pancakes and cheese toasties using induction. All on one charge thanks to the solar panel topping up a bit.
Had a power outage last week — plugged in the Wi-Fi, a fan, and even charged the car a bit. Honestly, super impressed. Worth every penny.
I use it in the van on weekend trips. Charges phones, laptop, and runs a small portable cooler when it’s hot. Battery lasts longer than expected.
Works well and gives the impression that it will last a long time.
It works fine, I have tested all it's features and I am pleased with the product.
We had a blackout last month — plugged in the Wi-Fi, lamps, and even the baby monitor. Worked perfectly. Feels super solid and not too loud. Haven’t tested the solar yet, but so far, so good.
The cable looks robust and well made... I anticipate that it will last for many years.
I only had this for a week and I have been testing it to make sure it works ok, before I take it on a long car trip across Europe. So far the unit looks robust and responsive. It is very quiet when rapid charging and it does charges quickly. Hopefully after the trip my review remains unchanged.
Great bit of kit. New to the campervan scene and was recommended this bit of kit. It does what it says on the box and to a great standard. We’ve only really used it once so far to test it out. Watched a 32” Samsung led tv for approx 3 hrs and only used 13% of the battery power. Very chuffed. This is going to be coming on every trip. Just need to save for some 200w panels now.
It's an extension cable with a single purpose of moving power that little bit further. What separates it from similar cheap copies is the quality, robustness, and reliability Jackery is famed for. Everything from the adapters to the straps, it's all that little bit extra, so you know it won't let you down when it's needed the most.
